Today my blog passed the 1000 views mark. Hooray! It took half a year but who’s counting? I am very happy that my words have been read. Not that I have anything that earth-shaking to say but at least if I ever do I’ll know that at least a few people will know…
Thanks for reading. Stop by again soon.

A journey of a million hits begins with a 1000 views. Actually I think I’ve heard something along these lines before but the source escapes me. Maybe back when I was a boy shortly after the earth cooled ..
From a faithful and grateful reader. And for your cinemaphile readers,..had an interesting juxtaposition of Toby Jones as Capote in Infamous (tonight) vs his supporting role in The Painted Veil (last night). His performance in both films was outstanding and feel that his Capote was more intricate and more open to interpretation (in other words more interesting to this viewer) than Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s 2005 interpretation.

Actually, I have only seen Phillip Seymour Hoffman play Capote. I enjoyed it thoroughly but have nothing to compare it to, not even the man himself as I have seen very little on Capote. Certainly I have seen ‘In Cold Blood’ almost half a dozen times but I have never read the book. I do believe it to be a starkly accurate recording of the actual murders and to this end I believe Capote more than did the story justice. As for the actors who portray him, I’d have to say that in order to successfully represent his rather peculiar manner and views on life would be a challenge not unlike the challenge Capote himself undertook in explaining (the murders) the inexplicable.
